Approximately two months following the official launch of 5G in India, the coverage for the next-generation network has expanded to more regions within the country. Both Jio True 5G and Airtel 5G Plus networks are now accessible to users with compatible devices in these newly included areas. Jio has recently declared its distinction as the first network to offer 5G coverage across the Delhi-NCR regions.

Users possessing a 5G smartphone with the necessary 5G-ready software updates and an active Jio 5G SIM can now experience 5G services in locations such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and other major hubs. Jio has assured comprehensive network presence in essential areas including residential zones, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, government buildings, commercial districts, shopping centers, technology parks, metro stations, major roads, highways, and other high-traffic zones.
According to a press note from Jio, the network has already reached lakhs of users through the Jio Welcome Offer, allowing them to explore 5G speeds at no additional cost. However, to avail of 5G services, users are required to recharge with a minimum of Rs 239 or a higher plan.

Despite the rapid expansion of 5G, a significant number of users in India still face challenges in accessing the network due to a lack of 5G-ready software updates across various smartphone brands. Additionally, the timeline for extending 5G coverage to unserved areas could range from several months to over a year.
